Join La Resistencia on September 22 at 1:30 PM for King County Council’s public comment meeting to speak out about safety concerns and the lack of rule enforcement at King County Airport!As many news outlets have been reporting, after years of pressure by La Resistencia, King County finally hired a deportation flight observer. However, they are not observing exclusively ICE flights and will not be present in person or present for all flights. This is concerning since King County continues to state that certain safety concerns like “hot fueling” can only be verified in person.The county also states it will only “encourage” its airport contractors to follow the rules rather than enforcing punishments when they break them. This is unacceptable!We have attended two council meetings to voice our outrage but have yet to see any action. If you find this outrageous like we do, please join us! Attend meetings in Council Chambers at 516 3rd Avenue, Room 1001 (10th Floor), Seattle, Washington. To provide in-person comment, find the sign-in desk to the left of the elevator doors on the 10th floor. The chamber opens at 1:15pm - we will meet directly outside the doors. La Resistencia will provide simple talking points as a guide for those who want them. The more people speak on the same issue, the better. Even if you do not wish to speak, your presence in support is more than enough!Spread this event as much as possible!
