For months, La Resistencia has been present in Tukwila where many people have reported having to check-in. One person shared that he followed every order for years until one day an officer falsely claimed he had missed a check-in, a lie that resulted in the individual’s detention. Surveillance does not keep us safe, and our fight to end all detention includes digital detention. Members of La Resistencia have talk with people who had no idea this program that thousands of immigrants are surveilled through exists, and others who aren’t aware of some of the ways others are navigating issues with being in the program or about attempts to exit ATD.
