Since 2018 we joined MiJente’s #NoTechForICE campaign to denounce how the tech industry is fueling the detention and deportation machine, by either providing new software, or new devices to track our people, but also data speculators selling the data they gather from social media, utility bills, law schools databases, etc.
We also denounce the industry that founded Alternatives to Detention as another way to continue profiting from the criminalization and surveillance of those under ICE custody. Although it seems it’s better than being detained in a physical cage, ATDs are a digital prison that in many ways is as bad as the detention centers.
